What Christmas is for me. First and foremost Christmas, or Christ's Mass, observed on December 25, is the day that I traditionally observe the birth of Christ, my Lord and Savior. About two millennia ago, on a cold night in the city of Bethlehem an old testament prophecy was fulfilled when the Christ child was born of the Virgin Mary by the helping hand of her husband Joseph. Around the surrounding area an Angels voice resonated the birth of the Christ child to the land surrounding ...

Now who is messing with mother nature here? It amazes me how some people can cry when a tree is cut, proclaiming we are altering nature, but when we mess with genes and what have you, it's no big deal. Whatever. In 2001, researchers at Texas A&M University, created the first cloned cat named Copy Cat. After bringing in a male to mate with Copy Cat, some several months later, here in December, Copy Cat gives birth to 3 kittens. I don't understand the fascination with cloning, u...

I came across this on YouTube; posted by AqfaPhoto; a segment of theDaily Show. I never know what to think about things of this nature. It just dosn'tseem out of the ordinary for a government leader to drill policy home. But then again, I believe it was hitler that said, "Tell the peopleenough lies over and over, and sooner or later they will believe it." I'm certain that many of you have already read this report. However, I just ran across it the other day, and found it quite interesting. Being a novice when it comes to politics, I would like to hear what some of you die-hards have to say about the report in general. You can review/download the entire report by clicking this link. Link In light of the importance of Iraq to United States interests and the future of the region, there is urgent need for a bipartisan, forward-lookin...

"NEW CASTLE, Pa. - A man convicted of terrorizing three teenagers by repeatedly calling and asking them about their feet has been sentenced to nine months to almost two years in prison." UUhhh..ilegal perhaps, but does this sound all that terroristic to you? Perhaps should these 3 teenagers meet several of the wackos I've known in my day, their perspective might be bent a bit closer to reality. Scott Kunder could not answer when the judge asked him why he made the calls to these girls. ...

Now you all know I'm not much for politics and all, but I spent the time today watching a press conference with President Bush, and the British Prime Minister concerning issues in the Middle-East. This airing actually piqued my curiosity and I felt somehow involved. I have to say I was a bit impressed. I've seen Bush stumble over his words and seem foolish several years ago, and found myself so embarrassed that I no longer watched him on TV. I have to admit, both Leaders came off to me ...

Mirza Ali, his wife, Sameena Ali, and Keith Griffen were all three convicted in an Oakland federal court of conspiracy and fraud charges. These morons illegally bought and resold more than $29 million worth of Microsoft software between 1997 and 2001. They allegedly formed front companies and bought existing corporations to take advantage of a program offering reduced prices on software if it's resold to academic institutions. Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft said it lost more than $60 milli...

Well, I walked in Monday evening to set up my account, for the 5 remaining classes I have to complete before my drivers license is returned to me. An ordeal that began in January of 2000. I walked into this place, that was unlike the last I was enrolled in, a private institution. Greeted by a charming and witty woman, who really bent over backwards to accommodate me in so many ways. Anyhow, she made it so my fist class began the following day on Tuesday, and my final class will be Janua...

Well, it seems as the President of NWIC, Dave the moron strikes yet again. My ex-direct superior Dan, the most skilled painter in the company, was let go on Monday. Dan, NWICs Executive Field Officer, has been a commercial painter in excess of 25 years, and IMHO is one of the best I've seen in my 15 years. The excuse he was given was the company could not afford to pay him. Well, I don't see how this can be. If any of you know how Public Works and prevailing wage jobs go, all journeyme...

From January 2000 to present, for various reasons, most of them as stupid as the plight that enabled my dilemma, I have battled the DUI school. Finally though, after yet another visit to the Marin courts and another visit to an all to familiar judge, the battle is drawing neigh to a close. Yes, the judge offered me yet one last referral into the DUI school; "This is the last one Lou. Next time it will be 19 hours in the county jail". I couldn't help but to suppress a smirk, 19 hours indeed...

Okay folks, back buy a somewhat popular demand.... 1) How many minutes would it be before six o'clock if fifty minutes earlier it had been four times as many minutes after three o'clock? 2) How long would it take a 1/2-mile train moving at one mile per minute to go through a two mile tunnel? Either/or. Good luck guys!
