I prepared to light my barbque today, and like every other time my mind drifted back to my childhood. What the hell has lighter fluid turned into? When I was a kid, my dad put a very sparing amount of Gulf (yes, Gulf like the petrolium company) lighter fluid onto the coals, had all of us move away, Stepped about 3 feet back and tossed a lit match onto the unlit coals. The fluid litterally flared up like a small infurno and continued to burn that way for a couple of minutes or so. Today...

“We will go back, My child, in history, a short history, and remember well what had happened in Rome to John, Pope John, whose reign lasted 33 days. O My child, it is history now, but it is placed in the book that lists the disasters in mankind. He received the horror and martyrdom by drinking from a glass. It was a champagne glass given to him by a now deceased member of the clergy and the Secretariat of the State [Cardinal Villot].” - Our Lady of the Roses, May 21, 1983 I indeed read ...

My best Windows box is on the edge of obsolete now. I am able to run games like Doom 3, Quake 4, UT2004, Halo...etc on high settings with my Radeo X800XL. I can run Battlefield 2 at higher settings, but not TOP. My best #DMark03=11127 AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (2.5GHz@400FSB) Epox 8RDA3+ Pro 1GB Cosair XMS PC3200 in dual channel (3-3-3-8) Ati Radeon X800XL (431,526) Like I said, I'm on the edge of obsolete as far as games newer than Battlefield 2. How tough is your vid card? What are y...

According a September 15th Today Show, Spain has implemented new rules stating that models in Spain must meat a certain weight criteria. Models must conform to a body mass index (BMI) constraints or cannot perform in a famous Spanish fashion show. One Modeling Official says, “We don’t want them skinny”. Yes, the battery saga continues. Sony has agreed to help financially with the Dell recall and another by Apple resulting from faults with Sony batteries. However, a Sony representative denied that the blame for Dell's battery cell problems lay completely with the Japanese manufacturer. "It is the configuration. We use the same batteries in our Vaios, and have our own safeguards against potential overheating. Other manufacturers which use the same cells haven't come forward with any iss...

Is it me, or does it seem that almost every kid today wants to be a gangster? As children act more and more like poorly behaved adults, the more they will be treated as adults, by the common public. Have a look at this kid...sheesh Wake up time kids!

Have you ever been taken from behind while you were concentrating on a long-ranged sniper shot, and just about peed your pants? Have you ever been on full alert sneaking down industrial hallways and have yiou heart just about stop when some enemy comes crashing out of the wall to maul you to pieces? As an older guy, Ive been playing these FPS type PC games for a couple of years now. I swear in those 2 years I have taken 5 years off my life! These are those that have nearly soiled my sho...

In a previous article I ask if all souls were created at the same time. I also postulate that the souls of both angels and men were created at the same time, leading to this article and the problem: If all the souls of angels and men were created at the same time, and the angels were present before men are born into the flesh, where are the souls of men being held until they are born? I find no reference to this in the bible. The only hypothesis I can really think of is the Judeo/Christ...

The first computer I had ever purchased with my own money was a Macintosh Quadra 605. It took me less than 20 minutes to unpack and setup the machine, to the point where I was using my new Mac. It was fairly intuitive, but nonetheless, I had my trusty Mac Bible to increase my learning curve. Since that very first PC, I have assembled and used only X86 platforms. It took me a bit of getting used to Windows, especially moving from the Mac OS to Windows 3.1. However, not to long after, Window...
