The babble of a middle-aged lunatic.
I can't begin to tell you how I felt watching this on demand ABC video clip where a young girl employed at a W. Kentucky Mc Donald's is accused of stealing a purse, forced to remove her clothes, is spanked for more than 10 minutes, was forced into oral copulation and more, by a stranger on a telephone.

I'll tell you, you guys need to see this sick foolishness. It astounds me the stupidity of some of the residents of this great country.

This poor girl is literally tortured and sexually abused while being falsely imprisoned in a Mt. Washington, Kentucky Mc Donald's by her manager....and others.

It was the night manager that initiated the various atrocities.

Click the link and watch.

The entire affair was caught on the Mc Donald's video cameras.

PS, and the Manager was a SHE!

I watched the entire thing on ABC Friday night. It was about 45 minutes long. My wife and I kept looking at each other wondering if this was real.

They caught the guy who made the call but he was tried and set free because they could not prove that it was him buying the calling cards.

This store manager should fry but she acted (in the interview) like she felt like she was doing the right thing. They asked her why she didn't call the cops to verify that it was them. Her lawyer wouldn't let her answer. Atl east two of the people who were handed the phone refused to do what the caller suggested. I'm proud of them but disgusted at the same time. If I had been one of those male workers I would have never walked out and let that torture continue.

Sad thing is that this pervert was calling since 94' and this is the case that got him caught. There were 70 reported cases all over the US. He says he didn't do it but the calls stopped after he was arrested.

This girl is rightfully sticking it to McDonalds for $200 million. If you ask me, I say that isn't enough.

Oh come on, Xythe.

It JustJohn here.

This sort of scam had been going on since the early 90's and there were many documented cases. There was a small mention of it in a training manual but after this news piece how many managers went and cracked the book for the first time.

I did my time at the arches as a teenager. The folks that own franchises are well aware of the problems with dimwitted managers. My neighbor owned the one I worked at. I had no problem letting him know my frustrations after I finished cutting his yard.

The point is McDonalds knew about the scam and only placed it in a manual with a bunch of junk a manager never looks at until they have a reason to. Ray Croc would have never put that in his dream.

This girl absolutely deserves to be compensated for what happened. We all know that the $200 million would never be awarded. How much is your dignity worth? (I understand she went on TV and allowed the footage to be shown - I'll bet to force a quick settlement)

The manager's actions were criminal and she probably holds some civil liability but unfortunately her pockets aren't that deep. She did represent a corporation with very deep pockets. McDonald's, like it or not, is responsible for her actions.

Doesn't the girl have some responsibility in this as well?

In the 20/20 piece, she performed oral sex on the manager's boyfriend. That's just incredibly stupid.

I agree she should be awarded some damages in the sense that McDonalds should have some responsibiltiy for the managers they hire, but $200 million? That's insane.

Agreed!  I dont see it worth $200m, but a pretty penny for her pain.  And that woman (manager) should not see the light of day for several years!

Well Doc, you know why that won't happen.

Oops. My apologies to Xythe!

No sweat

I understand what might make you think this John, but it's more than enough.

VERY insane. But it's the lawyers now. They'll go for as much as they possibly can. Remember, they take at least 40%.

Eventually those costs get passed down to the consumer, so let's not forget those 'deep pockets' are full of OUR money.

Ding Ding...Gold star is awarded.

Hell man, spank ME for a couple of hours, I could use the millions too.

Uuhhh LW, thats like threatening to make me eat my favorite pie, and pay me for it.
