I test my ISPs speed from my PC about once per month. It seems as Comcasy must have bumped my downstreem soeed, as I pay for 6mbps service, and no matter where I test from, it's been greater than that.
Do you use: Cable? DSL? Dialup?
What are the results of your best recent speedtest?
Click on the link below bringing you to the DSL reports tools/speedtest page, perform the speed test, and post your results.

This is the info I got from.....
DSLNet Australia SpeedTest
Your current bandwidth reading is:
1.28 Mbps
which means you can download at 163.56 KB/sec. from our servers.
Might be running a bit slower at present....I pay for a 1.50mbps connection and can often d/l at around 170 - 180KB/sec.
Oh well, that copy of War & Peace I'm d/ling is gonna take a bit longer.

You were probably not the only one using your pipe for downloads at the time, hence your relatively slow score. However, most Internet activity is down, not up, so hence your fast upload speed.
