What Is The Big Deal With The PS3 Or PlayStation 3

I never really played much in the way of console games, except a few that were ripped for the PC, so I guess I have a few questions for console gamers. Who knows? Maybe I'll end up running out and buying a PS3 or a Wii. Think of me as the sexiest lesbian in the world, and you are trying to convert me

What is it that drives all these people crazy to spend a minimum of $400 on a PS3?

What other things can a Play Syation 3 do besides play games? Is it like a media center as well?

I can build a pretty tight gaming machine, that does everything from play games to fix the kitchen sink, for around $1000; even less if I buy used componants. Why would I want a PS3 when for just a few bucks more I can do so very much more than play games.

Help me out here guys. Am I wasing my money upgrading my PC every 2-3 years to keep up with modern games?

Yet another nub who doesn't understand hardware response time versus software response time.

It's possible to make all controls lag in any game, it becomes more noticable with motion sensors, however. Any game that has poorly developed algorithms to input handlers will make it seem as if the remote itself is lagging... but... IT MUST BE THE CONSOLE! I know for a fact that the controls themselves do not lag. I own one. But you can keep trying to convince me they do all you want.

Why do you keep picking on one game and assuming the entire line is that way? FIND ONE PLACE THAT BADMOUTHS ZELDA! I DARE YOU! Like i said, worth 300 dollars in itself, any other game is an added bonus.

And yes, people will get wii related injuries. My idiotic friend accidentally smashed his wiimote into a wall day 1 boxing cuz he's mentally inferior... but, the types of people who do that are the same ones likely to emulate MTV's Jackass...

You hate the Wii because people are praising it. If it was an I-pod, i could understand, but dissin Nintendo dude? tsk tsk tsk

Smart people don't need one or the other to make a statement about themselves. As I said above, the Wii will be the console people have in addition to the one they are a fanboy of. That's the way it has been with previous Nintendo consoles. I know lots of people who only have a PS2 or an XBox, but I didn't know anyone who only had a gamecube.

So this x is better than y stuff is pretty dim. People like Nintendo games because they are fun. People who want photo realism from games like Mario or Zelda don't understand the genre. Watching them bleat, you really can't expect them to understand much of anything.
