The babble of a middle-aged lunatic.

When the evolutionists say that human beings evolved from monkeys, they may not be to far off the mark according to the author of the following video clip.

I think this guy has made some very interesting observations in this satire:

Banana anyone?

Clever, concise and other words beginning with 'C'. I would know more if I didn't have this monkey on my back...

I thought it was retarded, but witty retarded.

What I want to know, is how you got the youtube box to be there so I didn't have to go to their site?

"I thought it was retarded, but witty retarded."

What was retarded about it? I disagree with his ideas about religion, but there's not much there you can objectively dispute. You can be really, really intelligent, and still be wrong, especially about something so esoteric as God. So can your argument.

P.S. We didn't evolve from monkeys. No one says so. We both evolved from a common ancestor. Oversimplification and generalization is what religious people hate about how their philosophy is treated, too.

Easily Tova, just copy and paste the HTML from the page with the video you want posted, and that it

You hit the nail on the head here Baker.

We both evolved from a common ancestor. Oversimplification and generalization is what religious people hate about how their philosophy is treated, too.

I can agree with this from my "science" mind as well as my "spiritual" mind. It's just the question of who or what exactly that ancestor actually is

The whole thing. I thought it was funny, but stupid.

Thanks X I'll give it a try.

Aw, come on. That's a cop out. What was wrong with it? Where's the gaping holes in the logic there? You're going beyond 'wrong' and characterizing it as 'stupid', as in of lower than usual intelligence.

Where did you see that in the video? I didn't.

Baker you are thinking way too hard about this. It's my opinion.

It's stupid to me because he could substitute any animal for humans, and some would be so much funnier (like cats or kangaroos), but this person chose the obvious, overdone, and mind numbing monkey connection. It's tired. And its super stupid because he wasn't more original.

What can I say? I think South Park is stupid most of the time too.
on Nov 22, 2006
It has nothing to do with originality, we aren't close relations to kangaroos. We're just fancy primates.

The director of that little video was trying to be creative Baker. You're right though, he couldn't use other animals no matter how much more entertainment value it would gain. Then his evolution/anti-religion message might get muddled.

Boring.

I don't look at it and try to glean wisdom from it. I think its stupid. I don't think we evolved from primates anymore than from kangaroos. And what's worse, its the same tired, overdone, unimaginative, tripe.

But that's just me. I am sure plenty of people thought it was brilliant and funny and wonderful.

on Nov 22, 2006
Yep, you just don't agree with someone, can't make a counter-argument, so you just call it 'stupid'. Was what I figured, I just wanted to give you the opportunity to explain before I jumped to conclusions. You can't try and glean any wisdom from it, because you know if you do you'll find a lot, maybe even most, of what he says about religion is true.
on Nov 22, 2006
Baker, I thought it was dumb too. Dumb, but funny, like an Owen Wilson movie. You honestly think the style was drenched in intelligence and high-IQ arguments?

Give Tova a break - it really is a dumb little film. Clever on one level, but the portrayal is entertainingly dumb.

Amen...hahaha...sorry couldn't help it.

Baker its in ENTERTAINMENT. And as such you are right I do not

try and glean any wisdom from it,

Lighten up, shesh.
on Nov 25, 2006
No, Tova. Feel free to be 'light' all you want, but not everyone wants to be. You called something stupid, and I differed. You don't like me differing or addressing your assertion.

That said, maybe you shouldn't make assertions you don't want to back up.

I never once implied you couldn't have your opinion. You are the one who has a problem with mine.

I called it stupid, you asked why, I told you..

You are the one saying I'm not allowed to think an entertainment piece is stupid. That I must have "reasons" and state them to you, the "entertainment video police." Then when I give them, you tell me they are wrong. hahahahahahah

Feel free to be 'light' all you want, but not everyone wants to be.

Well good Baker. Be as serious as you want. I told you I was not taking this little piece of entertainment to heart ...why are you trying to make me? Why do you care if I think an entertainment video is stupid?
