The thing is, the media blew it twice when it came to OJ Simpson...

Back when he was on trial, I didn't here any jokes from DJs or Late Night Comedians about the song "Back Stabber" by "The O'Jays"... ;~D

This time headline writers missed the opportunity to announce:

"OJ Simpson's Book Deal Killed!" :~D

He made an ass out of all of us. When America is moved, it can be pretty formidable.

Now perhaps the news programs will stop endlessly replaying the story, and we can return to our regularly scheduled lives.

He did not.  His lawyers made monkies out of the prosecution.  He was just the receipient of that kangaroo court.

Eh, the part no one is asking about is how they can just walk off from their agreement with OJ. I'm betting that he keeps the cash he's been paid, all 3.whatever million of it. Watch and see if he sues. If he doesn't, they've probably paid him even more than that to cover the lose he made on his percent of sales.

So the killer laughs all the way to the bank. I don't think this is a great outcome if I'm right. The point was him profiting off his crime. Now, wait and see, he'll farm it out to a smaller publisher that doesn't care about PR and probably be paid twice.

The party at fault here is the JURY. A jury which, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, rendered a racially motivated verdict of "innocent" for no good reason other than to take a public slap at our criminal justice system in retribution for the Rodney King verdict.

I wrote an article saying pretty much the same thing, and I got told I was wrong.

You're absolutely correct; the jury was racially biased and once they heard the word 'nigger' come from Mark Fuhrman's mouth it was all over. It wasn't about whether OJ did it or not, it was all about niggers versus the white man.

Oj is a narcissistic asshole. Period.

He's probably going to be paid anyway, but at least Regan won't be making a huge bonus off of the potential astronomical ratings and disgust that this has created.

How is he a loser? Seems to me he's the ultimate winner. A) He has enough celebrity (infamy) to be still making money off his lifestyle regardless of public opinion of him. He's literally gotten away with murder IF he was the killer which a jury acquitted him of. C) His book and tv deal may have gotten cancelled, but Fox network AND the book publisher are still going to pay him. It may not be the ginormous sum originally bandied about, but it'll be enough to keep him in strippers and steaks for a very long time.

Public opinion hasn't seemed to hurt him very much..

I'm betting that he keeps the cash he's been paid, all 3.whatever million of it.

I grew up in the Philippines, and I did not know racism until I came here. I still remember when the trial was, (it was the same year I became a US Citizen). I commented to a friend how sad it was that this great football player was on trial. I also noted that from what evidence that was released, it seemed he might be guilty. When the verdict was announced a few hours later, my friend cheered along with the rest of the AA(s) {African-American(s)} in the study pod. After the jury made it clear that they didn't rely on the facts, and I expressed confusion to my friend, she said it didn't matter anyway, it was only a "white b@tch and a Jew b@stard, anyway . . . they won't be missed". I was naive, and still believed in the innate good of man, and that AAs were discriminated against. Ten years has changed my mind.

I personally think many would have watched the show and bought the book. Sex, drugs, money and violence seem to attract allot of people... even people who are civilized.

We would have mostly boo-hoo-ed it and said it was such a mockery of good taste and yet bought it by the bus load. I think your giving the public too much credit to think that we (well THEM because I would not have watched nor bought the book, but then again I don't waatch reality shows, want to hear cursing on late TV shows, nor do I care for every other tv ad having sex involved) would have bouht every word and talked about how ugly the man is for doing it while buying it.

Its like blaming the hooker for using her body to sell sex when the public is the ones who keep feeding the industry.
