The babble of a middle-aged lunatic.
There have been a few blogs written concerning bestiality of late. One such article, written by our very own British wacko believes that animals need a “special” police to protect their sexual rights.

Animals have little in the way of sexual rights, simply because they really cant tell us what they want, what they need, and how they feel.

This separates humans from animals. But you may ask, what about infant children. In response to that I say: I feel quite in tuned to the emotions, wants and needs of infant children, simply because I have been one. I believe these understandings are quite intrinsic to humankind. I cannot say the same of animals.

Besides, infant children have their parents who are responsible for their well being until theses kids can speak their own feelings. Animals have their parents as well, but unfortunately, the parents of animals can communicate with people no better than their offspring.

So, as human beings, we afford basic rights to all creatures that protect them from physical harm. However, we cannot offer animals protection from mental issues, simply because we do not know how or what animals are thinking, nor can they tell us what is bothering them. This is why as a human being, we cannot determine with any certainty that an animal that has copulated with a human has been raped or otherwise.

Simply put, we cannot convict a person of rape, if we are uncertain that a victim exists. We see this often in “date” rape cases of people.

So really, outside of basic rights protecting animals from acts of cruelty, we can afford them no more “human” rights.

Some day animals may have their own courts to adjudicate these matters for themselves, and communicate their findings to their human masters. But until that day comes, we can afford them little more than the courtesies we offer animals at the present.

Additionally, we have many human issues that require policing, and since the tax payers already pay for various “Animal Control” authorities, it’s simply absurd to waste more protecting animals from a situation we are quite unaware of.

Please care for your animals. They are your responsibility, and there is no reason to cause unnecessary suffering to any living thing.

While I love animals, I don't think of them as equals. About the whole sex with them, thing...I don't go there...it's not something I would like to do. Give me a nice woman any day.

I don't think beating them is a good thing, I also don't think having sex with them is such a good idea. I do like to eat them and I also like to study them and interact(not having sex). We can't grant them human rights...it's impossible and fairly idiotic. I repect animals, hence my choice of profession...but are they people? No.

Anywho...overall, I love animals...they're awesome. I'm never going to be a vegetarian, and I don't want to have sex with animals. So, that's my two cents.

What rights don't animals have when it comes to sex?  They have a lot more rights than we (humans) do!

Can we go around procreating anywhere we want, simply because we are "in heat"?

A few weeks ago, my daughter and her friends were at the zoo.  They were given a true-to-life lesson on the mating habits of brown bears.  Other than pointing and gigging, nothing was done about it.  Now, if it were my daughter and her friends copulating at the zoo, there may have been some pointing and giggling, but I bet there would also be arrests... and rightly so! ;~D

"Freedom of choice" in tha animal kingdom is a given.  If they don't want to raise the kids, they simply abandon them completely, or just eat them.  We don't have that as a basic human right!

So, don't sit there talking to us about how animals aren't afforded rights!  ;~D

Then your right on par Zoo, because as you know, they simply are not equals.

Give me a nice woman any day.

Give me 2!

I'm not certain that I love all animals, but I'm fond of most, and certainly don't begrudge them in any way (exept perhaps the neighbors dog crappin on the lawn .

I wont be going the veggie route anytime soon either, and my opinion of having sex with them, well Id rather snap my radish any day!

Heres a nickle for your 2 cents...thanx!

I know they have a lot of rights, but they can't be raped.

Ironic that a person who never seems to post any original thought could be so critical of other peoples thinking.

In Australia the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has the right to investigate and pass on to the prosecutor's office all animal-related offences (they have to coordinate with the police on raids, but that's it).

I doubt there's an RSPCA: SVU though. I can just imagine the TV show though. They'd TIP (take it personally, just like that chick off Law and Order SVU) it to the limit.

I think all of you would have a different perspective on animals and the load they bear, literally and figuratively, if you lived in Cairo.

To ParaTed2K: You cannot compare animals and their habits with that of humans. We're supposed to be a little more reserved when we're in heat!

There's at least one gorilla that can express her feelings, wants and needs.
