HINTS: I am not an animal, nor a fungi, and I'm quite magestic. I only live in about 75 localities on the planat, and reside between 4500-8000 feet above sea level. The oldest of my kind is about 3500 years old.

Also, I am not a human (animal).
I am local only to the western Sierras.

No, did you want specifics, or species? I already gave specifics.

I'm sorry Doc, I dont see the answer posted?
on Oct 31, 2006
Ok, I guess I'm just going to have to come out with it...

I am a Giant Sequoia Redwood tree.

This one must have been a bit tough. I imagine many people have never seen one of these guys. For me, I stub my toe on them every day.

wow,,,but i'm not sure that's correct xythe...after you posted the answer, i did some googling and came up with this WWW Link

You know what Sean, it seems as both you and the Doc may be right.

I'm very sorry Doc. Now I see whay you asked in terms of mass. We would be hard pressed to measure the mass of this fungus. I was also aware of other funguses that are like the one Sean posted a link to. I'm giving you the double bonus and Sean gets the bonus. Me, I get the consolation prize and an education.

I hope this dosn't ruin the credibility of my riddle posts

Grr...damn...I knew that one...big ol' redwoods...largest plants in existence. You also have your acres of fungi...and your blue whale as the largest animal.

Yeah, I'm a nerd...

It's not nerdy Zoo, I studied science in college as well. Science is the study of reality and isn't really subject to the same inconsistancies you find in politics, economics, and the like.
